Fairborn Multi-Temperature Cold Storage & Blast Freezing Facility
Located in Fairborn, Ohio, this 156,000+ square-foot cold storage facility was designed to provide flexible temperature-controlled warehousing and high-capacity blast freezing for food and beverage products. The facility features convertible storage rooms with operating temperatures ranging from -20°F to +55°F, allowing storage conditions to be adjusted based on changing product and operational needs.
Complementing the warehouse operation is a dedicated blast freezing area featuring Individual Rack Freezing (IRF), a system Innovative engineers to deliver controlled airflow and refrigeration capacity directly to each rack position for rapid product pallet freezing. This rack-level approach supports consistent freeze times, tighter production scheduling, improved yield control, and reliable throughput.
The ammonia refrigeration system utilizes a centralized prefabricated engine room designed for reliable, efficient performance. As a natural refrigerant, ammonia provides excellent energy efficiency and long-term sustainability for industrial refrigeration applications. Low-charge refrigeration technologies, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and heat recovery features were incorporated throughout the facility to optimize energy efficiency, simplify maintenance, and support dependable long-term operation.
