Nearing four years of excellence – Innovative Refrigeration Systems has maintained SHARP worksite status in the Virginia Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP).

Innovative Refrigeration Systems continues to be part of an elite group of businesses in Virginia that maintain exemplary safety and health programs. SHARP is eligible to businesses with 250 or fewer onsite employees and fewer than 500 corporate-wide employees. Innovative has managed to retain SHARP Certification, going on their fourth year in 2022.

The leadership team at Innovative Refrigeration Systems attributes the success of the SHARP program to the best in class manufacturing team based at the Lyndhurst, VA location “… they are conscientious on safety and we’re constantly looking to improve and raise the bar. SHARP is very much an employee driven effort.” Brad Metje, Safety Manager at Innovative Refrigeration humbly said, “My role was only that of maintaining the bar of excellence that our manufacturing team has upheld for so many years.”  

Employees at Innovative undergo extensive training to ensure their long-term success at building the best refrigeration systems in the industry. From state & federally recognized apprenticeship programs to the in-house training program Innovative University, employees are given access to a wide range of topics to advance their knowledge and help foster a culture of safety & training. This allows achievements like SHARP to be a possibility, and the team is looking forward to maintaining this certification for years to come.

Innovative is also excited to announce that they have started working towards SHARP Certification of their newest shop on Commonwealth Drive. This facility has been operational for 3 years, led by Brennan Rennick. This 40,000+ sq. ft. manufacturing space is dedicated to the fabrication of energy efficient and modular mini penthouse units. The safety team has been working diligently with the personnel in that manufacturing area to prepare for SHARP inspections, which will begin in January. Innovative is looking for motivated and driven safety and quality individuals to join their industry leading safety team.
