We are proud to say, this year we had our first graduating class from our Welder Apprenticeship Program! The graduating class consisted of three of our manufacturing shop foremen: Jonathan Fernandez, Leonard Scott, and Bernard Gaytan. Debbie Hobkins, the Chief Workforce Office and Program Director for Shenandoah Valley Workforce Development Board (SVWDB), came by our facility during National Apprenticeship week to recognize our graduates for receiving their welding certificates in 2017.
Since beginning our Welding Apprenticeship Program at the end of 2015, we have had three cohorts begin their training programs. This program requires 8,000 hours of classroom and on the job training. We look forward to the implementation of new opportunities in 2018, expanding our apprentice school to offer programs for electricians and insulators. These new programs will help our team members learning on the job with their peers and grow in their careers at Innovative.
