According to ASHRAE, 50% or more of the load of freezers is due to the infiltration air at the doorway. Innovative Refrigeration Systems’ impingement air door design can dramatically reduce this infiltration. Our impingement technology means that the air from zones of different temperatures remains separated–which means cold rooms don’t have to work as hard to maintain temperature, event without a physical barrier.

Several unique features set our air doors apart. VFDs allow careful control over air velocity, and horizontal airstreams with high velocity allow reduction in air infiltration by over 80%. No belt drive motor is used, and maintenance is virtually eliminated through the use of sealed motor bearings. A 3kW heater is included to prevent condensation, but is only used intermittently.
