Projects
Project description
Innovative Refrigeration Systems was hired to design and construct extensive renovations for a food and beverage distribution center in Layton, Utah.
The existing facility utilized two mechanical rooms, one of which relied on Freon. We were tasked with replacing them with one new mechanical room with an all-ammonia refrigeration system.
We also designed a new recirculated pump system, which featured three ammonia vessels. We also installed 3 screw compressors and 16 new evaporators.
Like many of our projects, we had to work around the client and perform all construction without interrupting the facility’s day-to-day operations. To tackle this issue, we assigned a day shift foreman and night shift foreman, and worked around the clock to get the project done as soon as possible. Once the new mechanical room was finished, we reclaimed the ammonia and Freon from the old rooms, and then demolished them.
The renovation was completed and fully operational on time, and with minimal disruption to our client.
