Innovative Refrigeration Systems began Phase 3 of a multi-phase project with a client who specializes in transloading agricultural products.
Phase 1 of the project allowed the facility to slow-freeze 480,000 lbs of product over 72 hours, and blast-freeze 96,000 lbs of product in 24 hours. The expansion in Phase 2 brought the slow-freeze capacity to 960,000 lbs.
Phase 3 involves a new mechanical room separate from the room used for Phases 1 and 2. Each section of the facility has its own PLCs with remote monitoring.
One of the unique aspects of Phase 3 was that it required a state-of-the-art water treatment skid, which was the first that we manufactured. It featured 2 water evaporators and a proprietary water treatment solution–allowing the client to achieve true zero blowdown and save thousands on their water bill.
Our construction team worked through extreme summer temperatures and finished Phase 3 right on time. The facility was up and at temperature a day before the deadline.
